About
The Urban
Artwalk
»Art is an evolutionary act. The shape of art and its role in society is constantly changing. At no point is art static. There are no rules.« Raymond Harmon

The Saarland Department of Education and Culture, in collaboration with the curators Patrick Jungfleisch and Benjamin Knur, has presented the 2017 ArtWalk project to Saarbrücken.

From March to August 2017 fifteen renowned urban artists from Europe and other parts of the world redesigned twelve facades in downtown Saarbrücken. In October 2017 and amidst the »Colors of Pop« festival this permanent open air exhibition was initially introduced as a walk-along course and is expected to further expand in the coming years.

The realization of the ArtWalk
is funded within the framework of the project
»Digital Stones«, the INTERREG V A program
of the greater region of the European Union.
