Born in 1969 in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Sandro Figueroa, alias Sen2, has been living and working in New York for over 30 years. His art is loud, flamboyant and jazzy, his style unmistakable!
Sen2’s style of painting consists of a combination of bright colors,(calli)graphical lettering, 3D objects, Pop Art motifs and abstract forms of expression. Traditional graffiti elements merge with well-known motifs from Pop Art – Graffiti meets Pop (Art) or: Puerto Rican temperament meets New York subculture!
In the 1980s, the golden era of graffiti, Sen2 co-founded the «Mad Crew», a group of graffiti artists, who achieved great prominence in the artist’s native country. Following his move to the United States, Sen2 joined the legendary «Tats Crew», a group of high-flying graffiti artists and mural painters in New York.
Meanwhile, Sen2 has made his mark all over the world, his enormous murals to be found, amongst other places, in New York, Madrid, Montreal and now – most recently – in Saarbrücken.
